The rise of the Wurlitzer jukebox
Wurlitzer was an American company founded in 1853. Originally, the company produced musical instruments such as pianos, organs, string instruments and barrel organs. Some instruments, including the pianos, were made on coin insertion. From this knowledge, Wurlitzer began developing jukeboxes in 1933. In 1934, the first Wurlitzer jukebox, the Wurlitzer P10 Simplex, was released. Wurlitzer was the leading jukebox manufacturer in the United States until the 1940s. The Wurlitzer 1015 Bubbler is one of the best-known models from Wurlitzer. This Wurlitzer jukebox was launched in 1946 and achieved the highest production numbers of any Wurlitzer jukebox.
