The history of pinball machines
Pinball machines, also known as pinball machines, have a fascinating history dating back to the 18th century. Its origins lie in the French game Bagatelle, in which players sent a ball with a cue across an inclined surface to score points.
In the 1930s, the first mechanical pinball machines appeared, such as Baffle Ball. This was a simple device without flippers, but with a playfield full of holes where players could score points. Real pinball began in 1947 with the introduction of flippers in Gottlieb's Humpty Dumpty, which made the game more interactive.
The 1970s en 1980s were the golden age of pinball, with the introduction of electronic displays en light en sound effects. Pinball machines such as Addams Family, Star Wars en Medieval Madness became icons of arcade culture. Despite the rise of video games, pinball machines remain beloved - a perfect blend of art, technology en nostalgia!
